Use A or C for the forward missile and laser stream, while B drops bombs toward ground and lower targets. Collect colour-coded power capsules repeatedly to advance each weapon through stronger forms; losing a life strips much of that progress, so a safe capsule route matters more than score early on. At the end of every zone, move into the upper or lower exit before the fork closes. Each choice changes the following stage, boss sequence and final route. Begin on a moderate difficulty, learn where terrain narrows the screen, and avoid hugging the floor even though Bombs target enemies below.

The D-pad moves Silver Hawk in eight directions. A or C fires missiles and lasers; B fires bombs. Start begins play, pauses and resumes. The Options screen can set Button B to Auto, allowing bombs to fire continuously, and offers other difficulty settings. Red capsules strengthen the forward weapon, green improves bombs and blue builds the protective Arm. Route selection is direct movement rather than a menu: steer into the upper or lower passage when the zone divides. The Mega Drive Sagaia and US Sagaia releases use this same core layout.
