Start with Exhibition and a short game, then choose a balanced lineup. On offence, pass before the defence traps the ball handler, use the shoot button only after creating space, and hold Turbo for brief drives instead of exhausting it. Near the basket, a moving shot becomes a lay-up or dunk. On defence, switch to the player nearest the ball, stay between the attacker and hoop, and attempt a steal only when the dribbler exposes the ball; repeated reaching creates easy openings.

D-pad: move the active player and aim passes. On offence—A passes, B shoots or jumps, C uses Turbo. On defence—A switches players or passes control, B jumps to block or rebound, C attempts a steal and accelerates where the context allows. Start: pause and open substitutions/options. Button assignments may vary with the selected control configuration.
