Choose one or two players and use the first street to learn the directional attack system. A attacks to the left, C attacks to the right, and B jumps; press the attack facing the nearest enemy instead of turning first. Jump with B and add A or C for a flying attack, and press both side attacks together when surrounded for a spinning move. Enter shops between fights to buy extra fighters, weapons, or techniques, but preserve enough resources for later countries and bosses.

D-pad: move in eight directions. A: attack left. C: attack right. B: jump. B+A or B+C: jump attack toward that side. A+C: rear/dual-direction or spinning attack according to the current fighter. Start: pause. Close range changes strikes into grabs or throws; purchased characters and weapons may alter attacks.
