How to Play Earnest Evans
Quick start
Use the whip at range and crouch before low projectiles. Jump only after enemies commit, then attack in the air or land behind them. The whip can latch onto selected overhead points and move objects, so test suspicious ceilings and blocks before assuming a gap is impossible. Collect idols, health, and weapon upgrades, and approach bosses from the edge until their pattern is clear.
Controls
D-pad: move, crouch, climb, and aim the whip. A: whip/attack and grab compatible objects or anchors. B: jump. C: use the selected secondary weapon or action. Start: pause and view status. Direction plus attack changes whip angle; jump plus attack performs an aerial strike.
