Explore the Yolkfolk’s world, speak to characters and treat every unusual object as part of a puzzle. Dizzy can carry only a small selection, so note where unused items are left and swap them near the problem they may solve. Early on, practise rolling jumps and use doors to map how the village, mines, castle and clouds connect. Collect stars whenever they are safe to reach, but prioritise rescuing the Yolkfolk and breaking Zaks’s spell; several arcade-style sections introduce their own instructions when entered.

Left and Right walk; Up enters a door or passage when Dizzy is aligned with it. A opens the inventory. B picks up the nearby object, uses the selected inventory item or drops it, depending on context. C jumps, and momentum can turn a landing into a roll, so allow extra room near hazards. Start pauses and resumes play. Some mine-cart, river, bubble and shooting sequences temporarily add situation-specific movement, which the game explains on entry; the core adventure areas always return to the same A inventory, B use and C jump layout.
