How to Play James 'Buster' Douglas Knockout Boxing
Quick start
Pick a boxer and learn to target high and low before relying on power punches. Step left or right to control distance, hold Up to protect the head and use C to duck under a high swing. A quick jab interrupts many attacks, while the slower straight punch does more damage when an opponent misses. Save A+B combinations for a clear opening: Up+A+B throws a head-level haymaker and Down+A+B an uppercut. Defeat the roster and survive the extra Iron Head bout in the western version.
Controls
Left and Right move around the ring; Up raises the guard to protect the head, while Down changes the target toward the body. A throws the fast left jab and B the stronger straight or opposite-hand punch; combine either with a direction to vary head and body attacks. C ducks. Press Up+A+B for a haymaker hook and Down+A+B for an uppercut, both powerful but slow. Start pauses. Final Blow and James ‘Buster’ Douglas Knockout Boxing use the same base system, with the western release changing the roster and adding its licensed champion.
