How to Play Gain Ground

Quick start

Select Arcade mode for the direct campaign and inspect each battlefield before choosing a warrior. Clear a round either by defeating every enemy or by carrying all available allies to the EXIT before time runs out. Use the normal shot for routine targets and the special weapon for enemies on ledges, behind cover or at unusual heights. Rescue prisoners by touching them, but remember they join the roster only after you escort them to the exit; do not risk every survivor in the same dangerous lane.

Controls

The D-pad moves the current warrior in eight directions and chooses a character before deployment. B fires the normal weapon. A or C selects a warrior and fires that warrior’s special weapon during play. Start pauses and allows Player 2 to join. Different warriors attack high, low or at long range, so the same input may produce a bow arc, grenade or other special. Carry a rescued ally to EXIT to add that fighter to the team.
