How to Play Fatal Fury
Quick start
Choose Terry, Andy or Joe and learn one fighter before chasing Geese Howard. Win two rounds by reducing the opponent’s life bar, but avoid jumping constantly: walk into the range of a safe punch or kick, block the reply and practise the character’s directional special-move commands from the manual. Throws punish an opponent who stands too close. When a second human joins a story match, both players can cooperate against the CPU before fighting each other after the enemy falls.
Controls
The D-pad walks forward or backward, crouches and jumps; hold away from the opponent to guard. A punches, B kicks and C throws at close range. Directional motions combined with A or B perform each fighter’s special attacks, such as Terry’s Power Wave and Burn Knuckle, Andy’s Hishoken and Zan-ei Ken or Joe’s Hurricane Upper. Start pauses. The European, US and Japanese Mega Drive releases share this three-button foundation, although names and presentation differ by region.
