Select Easy or Normal for a first run and use Stage 1 to learn the rhythm between ordinary jumps and the Flipper Flip. A single jump opens treasure chests and lands on enemies; a quick double-press turns the jump into the stronger flip, which is safer against approaching pirates. Collect diamonds and break every chest you can reach for healing, speed boots, and extra lives. Touch the blue checkpoint orbs so they turn red; if Havoc is defeated later in the level, he restarts from the latest activated point. Each level has a ten-minute limit, so keep moving once a route is clear.

Use Left and Right to run. When standing still, press Up to look and Down to crouch. A, B, or C jumps, and holding a direction carries Havoc through the air. Press any jump button while crouching to perform the Slippery Slideaway Roll. Double-press A, B, or C for the Flipper Flip, the main offensive move. A is also the documented button for jumping onto enemies and smashing treasure chests. Start begins play and pauses or resumes. Holding a direction keeps Havoc moving, while running before a jump gives the distance needed for wider gaps.
