How to Play NHL 98
Quick start
Choose a quick game, season, playoffs, or shootout, set teams and game options, then build attacks with passing and one-timers. Keep defenders between the puck and the net, rotate lines before they tire, and use manual goalie control only when you can read the shot. NHL 98 closely follows NHL 97, with updated rosters and special-move commands.
Controls
D-pad: skate, navigate, and aim. In the standard 16-bit layout, B passes or changes players, C shoots or checks, and A dumps/clears or performs the defensive stick action; Start pauses. During play, press Start and then a D-pad direction to trigger the selected player's special move. Verify secondary actions in the pause-screen Controls display because alternate configurations can swap A/B/C assignments.
