Hold the normal shot continuously, sweep across ground targets for medals and power-ups, and collect matching weapon icons to strengthen the current colour rather than changing weapon repeatedly. Save bombs for dense crossfire, kamikaze rushes or a boss pattern that blocks every escape. The ten stages loop at higher difficulty, so learning safe entry lanes and preserving lives matters more than chasing every bonus.

The D-pad moves the biplane in eight directions. A or C fires the current forward weapon; use whichever button is more comfortable for sustained shooting. B drops a bomb that damages enemies and clears immediate danger across a wide area, consuming one bomb from the stock. Start begins and pauses play. Collect weapon and power-up items by flying over them; the shot buttons then use the upgraded weapon automatically. European, US, Retro-Bit and Japanese Same! Same!
