How to Play Shadow of the Beast

Quick start

Explore the open landscape as Aarbron, enter caves and structures, and collect keys and objects that unlock routes deeper into the world. Enemies often arrive from both sides, so advance in short steps and turn before striking. Preserve health potions for long underground sections, note doors that require an item, and revisit earlier junctions when a newly collected object opens a path. The goal is to reach Maletoth and break his control.

Controls

D-pad: walk, crouch, climb, and choose an inventory object. A: use the selected object or potion. B: punch or kick the facing enemy. C: jump. Start: pause and view carried items. Press toward ladders or doorways to enter them; use attacks early because Aarbron's short range leaves little recovery time.
