Start at the mansion's front door and press Up to enter. Your larger goal is to search the house and grounds for Pugsley, Wednesday, Granny, Uncle Fester, and finally Morticia, but the mansion branches in many directions. Jump on ordinary enemies, avoid spiked creatures, and preserve temporary weapons for awkward targets and bosses.

Press Left/Right to move, Up to enter doors or climb, and Down to duck, climb down, or enter openings below. B makes Gomez jump, swim, or fly; tap it repeatedly while using the Fezi-copter. C jabs with the sword or throws a golf ball, and Up+C attacks above. Start begins the game, confirms a password, and pauses. Most ordinary enemies can be defeated by landing on them, but pointed enemies must be avoided or attacked with a weapon.
