How to Play The Aquatic Games Starring James Pond and the Aquabats

Quick start

Choose Practice to learn individual events, or enter The Aquatic Games and earn at least bronze in each event to continue; failing to medal ends that run. Begin with 100m Splash: alternate A and B rapidly to build speed and press C to jump over the boat rather than hitting it. Each later contest changes the timing and purpose of the same buttons, so read the event prompt and rehearse before chasing gold. Consistent rhythm matters more than random mashing, especially in sprint and leap events.

Controls

Menus use the D-pad and an action button to select. Event controls vary. In 100m Splash and Leap Frog, alternate A and B rapidly to run and use C to jump. Hop, Skip and Jump also builds the approach with A/B, then uses timed inputs for its three leaps. Other events use directional movement and action timing for batting balls, feeding fish or striking shells. Start pauses. Because there is no single universal event mapping, follow the on-screen prompt whenever a new competition begins.
