How to Play Turbo OutRun

Quick start

Race from New York to Los Angeles against the rival Porsche, choosing route branches and upgrading the Ferrari between sections. Brake before traffic and sharp bends, straighten the car before accelerating, and use turbo only on a clear road because its extra speed magnifies collisions. Watch engine temperature, save a boost for passing the rival or recovering lost time, and choose upgrades that compensate for the next route's handling demands.

Controls

D-pad Left/Right: steer; Up/Down select gears or menu choices according to the transmission option. B: accelerate. C: brake. A: engage turbo while it is available and not overheated. Start: pause. Turbo raises speed and temperature, so release it before corners or dense traffic and wait for the gauge to recover.
