How to Play Aerial Assault
Quick start
From the demonstration, press START twice to reach mode selection. Choose 1 Player Mode with up/down and confirm with a button. Move clear of the first enemies while firing with 1 or 2. Collect shield and weapon items when the route is safe. For linked play, connect two systems with two cartridges, choose 2 Player Mode, then let player one start.
Controls
D-pad: fly in any direction. 1 or 2: fire; either also confirms mode selection. START: start, confirm the mode, skip introduction screens and pause/resume play. In linked play either player can pause. Both action buttons fire.
Aerial Assault — About this game
Aerial Assault sends the Freedom forces against the NAC’s stolen war machines. You begin with three fighters and face six missions, steering around enemy formations while keeping your guns firing. Enemies can leave items that strengthen shields and firepower, so watch where a pickup falls before moving toward it. An exposed upgrade is less useful than a surviving aircraft. The Game Gear edition also offers linked two-player flight with two systems, two cartridges and a Gear-to-Gear cable. Each pilot has a separate stock of fighters, and the survivor keeps playing when the other runs out. The linked mode changes some rules: five-way fire is unavailable, and either pilot can pause the action. In solo play, track both your remaining fighters and score as the enemy pressure builds.
