How to Play Arch Rivals - The Arcade Game
Quick start
Press START at the title screen. On Tonight’s Match, use 2 to cycle teams and START to confirm. Move into open space, pass between teammates and watch the shot clock before attempting a basket.
Controls
D-pad: move. With the ball: 1 passes, 2 shoots. When your teammate has the ball, run off-screen and press 2 to call for a pass. On defense: 1 steals or punches, 2 jumps. START: begin, confirm, pause or resume. On the team screen, 2 cycles teams.

Arch Rivals makes basketball a rough two-on-two contest. Choose among five teams with players of different strengths, then control one star while the computer handles your teammate. Passing and finding open space still matter: a clear shot has better odds, and close defensive pressure makes an opponent’s shot harder. But punches and other underhanded tricks are part of the contest, with no fouls to stop the action. Keep watching the shot clock because possession changes when it expires. Court distractions include a referee who can get in the way and rubbish thrown by the crowd. Between periods, the announcer offers advice in Coaches Corner. Balance the urge to brawl with the need to move the ball and score.
