How to Play Arena - Maze of Death ~ Arena
Quick start
Press START for the opening menu. Use Up/Down and 1 to choose options; Easy offers more lives and weaker enemies. Press START at the opening menu to begin. Move through the first warehouse, fire with 1 and use the knife with 2. Press START to check supplies and choose a collected primary weapon with Left/Right.
Controls
Directions: move and select. 1: fire primary weapon, confirm menu choices and enter password characters. 2: use secondary weapon, initially a knife. START: pause to the status screen or resume. On the status screen, Left/Right selects collected primary weapons. For passwords, select characters with directions, enter with 1 and select End when finished.

Guy Freelander must reach a broadcasting studio to expose a government propaganda scheme. Arena: Maze of Death sends him through an industrial park and underground routes toward the heavily defended Astralnet building. His initial machine gun and knife are only the beginning: collected weapons offer different firing patterns and strengths, while grenades can clear obstacles as well as enemies. Ammunition is limited, and armour loses effectiveness with each hit. Locked doors demand passes or switches, so progress depends on examining routes alongside fighting. The status screen pauses the action and lets you change primary weapons. Three difficulty settings adjust the challenge, and passwords awarded after every fourth level allow a later return.
