How to Play Asterix and the Great Rescue
Quick start
At the options screen, use Up/Down to select Difficulty and Left/Right to choose Easy. Select Exit and press 1 or START. Press 1 or START at the stage introduction. Practise jumping with 1, punching with 2 and switching heroes with Up + 2.
Controls
Left/Right: move. Down: crouch; add Left/Right to crawl. Button 1: jump. Button 2: punch; hold for a Mega Punch. Up + 2: switch heroes. Down + 1: select special weapon. START: begin, pause or resume.
Asterix and the Great Rescue — About this game
Asterix and the Great Rescue sends Asterix and Obelix after the Romans who captured Getafix and Dogmatix. Their journey mixes fighting with obstacles that reward the right choice of hero. Obelix can push blocks and smash them with his fists, while Asterix can crawl through spaces too small for his companion. Potions add other ways forward: a disguise hides Asterix from enemies, and floating or cloud effects help him reach awkward places. Switching characters is therefore part of exploring, rather than simply a change of appearance. Practise ordinary jumps and punches first, then study each obstacle before spending a special weapon.
