Battleship combines fleet placement with turn-based attacks on a twelve-by-eight grid. Position each ship horizontally or vertically, then search the opposing waters one target at a time. A hit is only part of the job: every square occupied by a vessel must be struck before it sinks. The grid records previous shots, letting you build a search pattern rather than fire blindly at the same locations. Ordinary RIM-66 missiles are unlimited, while special weapons have limited supplies and different attack patterns. Reconnaissance tools become available as you advance. Eight levels contain five battles each, with higher ranks introducing more ships or weapons. Record the four-number password awarded after a level to return through the title menu’s Code option.
