Quick start
Choose a language with the directional pad and confirm with 1, 2 or START. At the title, press START to show the menu, then START again to begin. Move with Left/Right, jump with 1 and throw a sombrero with 2. Find the key and rescue the villager.
Controls
Left/Right: run. Down: crouch. 1: jump; also leave the score/lives screen after a level. 2: throw a sombrero. START: pause/resume. In options, Up/Down selects a setting and Left/Right changes it.

Cheese Cat-Astrophe Starring Speedy Gonzales sends Speedy after Sylvester, who is posing as Dr. Cheesefinger and has taken Carmel and other villagers hostage. Each level requires a key and a rescued villager before you can continue. Running and jumping are joined by a limited supply of throwable sombreros, so collecting ammunition matters. The journey passes through desert, mountains, volcanic terrain and water, with new hazards demanding different approaches. Later, a lasso helps Speedy reach platforms beyond an ordinary jump. Look for energy items and extra lives, and search the surroundings when the route forward seems blocked.
