How to Play Ecco - The Tides of Time
Quick start
Press START at the title, then swim Right from the starting cavern to begin. Practise steering,1 for charge and2 for speed. Press START to sing at a creature. Hold START for a map, release when it appears, then press START to leave it.
Controls
Directional pad: swim.1: charge.2: speed; tap repeatedly to increase speed. START: sonar song; hold for echolocation map. START also exits the map. Press1 then quickly START for sonar-charge.1 or2 closes text. At the starting cavern,Left opens passwords and Right begins.
Ecco - The Tides of Time — About this game
Ecco - The Tides of Time sends Ecco after the surviving Vortex queen, whose presence threatens the ocean’s future. In this Game Gear adventure, movement, sound and observation work together. Swim gently through narrow passages or tap the speed button to build momentum. Ecco’s song communicates with creatures and objects, and holding it produces an echolocation map of nearby features. A charge can strike enemies, break certain barriers or catch fish for food. Combining the charge with sonar adds another attack. Record each level’s password so exploration can continue later without retracing the entire journey.
