How to Play Fred Couples Golf
Quick start
Press START, highlight a mode with Up/Down and select with START. In play, choose SHOT with 2. Set direction, club and stance with Left/Right and 2. Press 2 to start power, again to stop it and again to set the striking point.
Controls
Directions: menu choices and shot direction. 2: select, advance shot preparation and control power/impact timing. 1: previous menu, cancel the moving power meter or skip advice. START selects modes at the title. The impact-point stage cannot be cancelled.

Fred Couples Golf for Game Gear makes preparation part of every stroke. The action window offers a fairway view, terrain information and caddie advice before you choose Shot. Set the direction, club and stance, then stop the rising power meter and choose the point where the club meets the ball. Wind and the lie can change the result, so the longest club is not automatically the best answer. Practice helps you learn the sequence before a tournament against computer professionals. You can cancel the moving power meter with 1, but the striking-point stage cannot be cancelled once it begins. Check the setup before committing, and use the green’s elevation information when planning a putt.
