How to Play Frogger
Quick start
Press START to begin. Watch a lane before hopping into it, cross the road through gaps and use the floating platforms across the river. Aim for a home opening and avoid stepping into occupied space.
Controls
Directional pad: hop up, down, left or right. START: begin at the title. Use individual hops to judge traffic and line up with moving river platforms.
Frogger — About this game
This pre-release Game Gear version of Frogger follows the arcade game’s direct crossing challenge. Guide a frog from the lower edge of the playfield toward the homes at the top. The road demands a gap between vehicles, while the river requires a route across floating platforms. A safe move in one lane can place the frog in danger in the next, so look ahead before hopping. Sideways steps and an occasional retreat help you wait for a better opening. Begin with a clear route through the road, then watch the river’s movement before committing to a crossing. The challenge comes from joining short, well-timed moves into a complete journey.
