How to Play Magic Knight Rayearth
Quick start
Press START and choose a new game with 2. Explore the first forest, speak or inspect with 2 and open the field window with START. In battle, select a command, adjust the rotating display with Left/Right and stop it with 2.

Pad: movement and command selection; Up enters buildings and Up/Down takes connecting paths. 2: confirm, talk, inspect, advance text and stop battle display. 1: cancel. START: begin and open/close field window; unused in battle.
Magic Knight Rayearth — About this game
Magic Knight Rayearth for Game Gear sends the three heroines across Cephiro to find their missing companion Mokona. Travel between regions on the world map, explore towns and forests, talk to people and inspect objects to uncover the next event. The side-view scenes lead into command battles rather than ordinary platform fighting. A rotating battle display makes timing important: use Left and Right to change its speed, then stop it with 2. Faster rotation can strengthen an attack but makes the desired result harder to catch. Watch the border gauge and messages to judge the party’s condition, and reserve magic for situations where it helps most. Completing events opens new regions, while earlier places remain available to revisit.
