How to Play NBA Jam
Quick start
Press START to begin, choose whether to enter initials and a password, then select a team. Use 1 or 2 to choose your player and START to confirm. Move into space, pass with 2 and hold then release 1 to shoot.
Controls
Default layout: D-pad moves. 1: hold then release to shoot; block on defense. 2: pass on offense, steal on defense. Hold START for turbo; drive toward the basket and press START+1 to dunk. Options can change the layout.
NBA Jam — About this game
NBA Jam on Game Gear compresses professional basketball into fast two-on-two contests for one player with a computer teammate. Choose from 27 NBA teams and weigh speed, three-point shooting, dunks and defense when selecting your player. Turbo helps drive past a defender or rush back for a block, but the meter needs time to refill. Three consecutive baskets by one player ignite an on-fire run with unlimited turbo and improved shooting. Tag Mode can hand control to the teammate receiving a pass, changing how you coordinate attacks. Passwords preserve the season record between sessions. Release shots near the top of the jump and watch passing lanes instead of forcing every possession into a dunk.
