How to Play NBA Jam Tournament Edition
Quick start
Select PRACTICE with the D-pad and START to learn movement and shooting. For a match choose START GAME, a side and a team; cycle available players with 1 or 2 and confirm with START. Pass with 2 and release 1 to shoot.
Controls
Default layout: D-pad moves. 1: hold then release to shoot; block on defense. 2: pass on offense, steal on defense. Hold START for turbo; drive toward the basket and press START+1 to dunk. Options can change the layout.
NBA Jam Tournament Edition — About this game
NBA Jam Tournament Edition expands the Game Gear two-on-two game with practice, larger team rosters and substitutions between quarters. One player works with a computer teammate, choosing athletes with different shooting, passing, power and defensive ratings. Injury reduces performance, so resting a player for a quarter can be wiser than keeping a star on court. Options add hot spots, power-up icons and faster Juice Mode, while Tournament Mode disables power-ups, cheats and computer assistance for a stricter contest. Games with hot spots or power-up icons do not count toward the season record. Learn shot timing in practice, then use turbo selectively and save the updated password after a competitive game.
