How to Play Olympic Gold
Quick start
Select Training Session with the pad and a fire button, then choose an event with 1. Begin with 100 metres: wait for the gun, alternate 1 and 2, and use a direction to dip at the finish. Learn each event’s actions before entering Full Olympics.
Controls
100m: alternate 1/2, direction to dip. Hurdles: same running, direction to jump. Hammer:1 starts, alternate 1/2 for speed, direction begins travel, direction again releases. Vault: alternate 1/2, Down plant, Up push,1 release, Left clear bar. Archery: action advances tension/aim/fire; pad adjusts. Swim:1 or 2 dive, alternate 1/2 with stamina, pad turns/finishes. Diving: Left starts, Up forward leap, Down launches; air 1 pike,2 twist, Left/Right tuck, Up straight, Down entry.

Olympic Gold for Game Gear brings seven summer sports together:100 metres,110-metre hurdles, hammer throw, pole vault, archery, springboard diving and 200-metre freestyle. Training lets you isolate an event before choosing a smaller programme or the full Olympics. Fast alternate button presses help on the track, but the same pace can exhaust a swimmer. Throws and vaults depend on a well-timed direction input, while archery asks for bow tension, aim and wind judgment. Diving rewards matching the selected routine and entering the water cleanly. Treat each discipline as its own control lesson instead of pressing as quickly as possible everywhere. Compare times, distances and scores, then use training to improve the event holding back your overall result.
