Pac-Man on Game Gear keeps the maze chase focused on movement, timing and route planning. Eat every food dot to clear the round while four ghosts pursue through the corridors. Power Pellets briefly reverse the chase, letting you eat vulnerable ghosts for extra points, and bonus fruit rewards another visit to the centre. Choose a close view that follows Pac-Man or a smaller view showing the whole maze; each changes how much warning you have of trouble ahead. Later rounds demand tighter turns and more careful use of the remaining pellets. The original cartridge also supports a two-player contest with two systems and a Gear-to-Gear cable. Clear dangerous dead ends when escape is available rather than leaving them until the end.
