How to Play Pete Sampras Tennis
Quick start
Choose Challenge with 1 and select a player. Use 2 for an automatic serve or press 1 to toss and 1 again to hit. Move into position and return with 1; use 2 for a lob.

Directions: move; during swing adjust placement/power. 1: manual serve/normal shot. 2: automatic serve/lob. Left or right + 2: dive. START: pause/options.

Pete Sampras Tennis offers single matches, tournaments and a world tour on Game Gear. Start with a challenge match to learn the difference between a normal return and a lob. Position yourself before the ball arrives, then use the direction pad during the swing to alter placement and power before contact. Manual serving rewards a well-timed second press, while the automatic option helps you concentrate on positioning. Grass, clay and hard courts give the matches a different feel. On the world tour, passwords let you return to your progress between matches.
