How to Play Rastan Saga
Quick start
Begin with START and advance carefully through the first area. Use 1 to strike and 2 to jump. Hold up with 2 for extra height, then try down+1 during a jump to attack below.
Controls
Left/right: walk. Down: crouch or descend ropes; up: climb. 1: weapon attack, with up for an upward thrust. 2: jump; up+2: high jump. While airborne, down+1: downward attack. START: begin/pause.

Rastan Saga on Game Gear follows a barbarian through seven rounds of platforms, hostile creatures and boss encounters. His sword has a limited reach, so moving into range and attacking at the right moment works better than rushing through enemies. Aim upward against airborne threats or strike down during a jump to approach from above. Ropes and high jumps help negotiate broken terrain, while temporary weapons and protective equipment change your options without replacing careful movement. Keep an eye on the life meter and recognize that dangerous terrain can punish a mistimed leap. Learn an enemy’s approach, make room for a clean strike and use the stronger equipment before its effect expires.
