How to Play Ristar the Shooting Star
Quick start
Press START, highlight GAME START with up/down and confirm with START. Use 2 to jump and 1 plus a direction to grab. At a Star Handle hold 1 and the facing direction, build speed, then release 1 to fly.
Controls
D-pad: move, guide jumps and grabs, climb ladders. 1: grab; press again to throw held objects. 2: jump or leave a ladder. For wall climbing grab the wall, hold diagonally up and tap 1 rapidly. START: menus, pause and resume.
Ristar the Shooting Star — About this game
Ristar’s Game Gear adventure makes his reaching arms the centre of exploration. Grab creatures and objects in the direction you choose, throw usable objects, climb walls with repeated grabs and swing from branches. Planet Terra’s pirate ships, musical Sonata and icy Freon ask you to use these moves in different settings rather than simply jump over every obstacle. A Star Handle builds spinning speed while held; releasing it launches Ristar into a controllable Meteor Strike with brief protection. Explore high and low for life stars, treasure and the keys to bonus opportunities. The health display holds up to four life stars, and one hundred Big Stars earn another try. Look for a safe landing before a fast flight ends.
