How to Play Shaq Fu
Quick start
Choose Story or Duel with Up/Down and confirm with 2. In a fight, approach with the pad, use 1 to punch and 2 to kick. Try START+Down for the shield. Pause with START+1+2.
Controls
Pad Left/Right: move; Up and upper diagonals: jump; Down: crouch; down-back: defensive crouch. 1: power punch. 2: power kick. START+Left/Right: movement boost. START+Down: shield. START+1+2: pause. Menus: Up/Down and 2 confirm.

Shaq Fu for Game Gear follows Shaq into a strange realm where progress depends on one-on-one fights. The story route gives each encounter a place in the journey, while Duel offers a more direct way to practice a matchup. Use the small arena carefully: jumping forward without a plan gives an opponent an easy opening, and backing away can protect you when attacks come close. Punches and kicks form the basic attack pair, with START combinations adding a boost and shield. Learn to approach, strike and retreat before relying on repeated attacks. The pause input is a three-button combination, so keep it separate from the defensive commands you use during the fight.
