How to Play Sonic Chaos
Quick start
Press START, choose Sonic or Tails with left/right and confirm with 2. Start with Tails to practise flight, or Sonic to pursue the emeralds. Collect rings and jump with 1 or 2. From a standstill, hold down and press 1/2, then release the D-pad to launch a spin dash.
Controls
Left/right: move and accelerate. Up: look up; down: crouch/look down. 1 or 2: spin jump. At rest, down + 1/2, then release the D-pad: spin dash. Up + 1/2 charges Sonic’s standing dash; release the D-pad to launch. For Tails, up + 1/2 starts flight; use the D-pad to guide him. START begins and pauses. Character selection confirms with 2.
Sonic Chaos — About this game
This is a pre-release build of Sonic Chaos. Sonic Chaos sends Sonic and Tails back to South Island after Eggman disturbs the Chaos Emeralds and threatens the island. You choose one hero for a run through six zones, each split into three acts. Both characters can jump into enemies and launch a charged spin dash, but their standing special moves differ: Sonic builds a fast dash, while Tails takes off for a short flight. Tails is a useful way to learn the routes; Sonic is the character who can collect all the emeralds. With Sonic, gathering 100 rings opens a special stage, so protecting a ring supply gives exploration another purpose. Read the ground ahead before releasing a charged dash, and use flight to cross awkward platforms rather than waiting until you have already fallen.
