How to Play Sonic Labyrinth
Quick start
Press START at the title to open the menu and choose Normal Game. To adjust steering first, select Config with the D-pad and 2, choose Straight or Slant, then use 2 to begin. Hold 1 or 2, aim with the D-pad and release to dash. Press either button again to brake. Find all three keys, then locate the exit before time runs out.
Controls
D-pad: move Sonic, aim a charged dash and navigate menus. Hold 1 or 2 to charge, release to Spin Dash, and press either during a spin to brake. START opens the title menu and pauses/resumes play. In Config, up/down selects an option, left/right changes it, 1 returns to the menu and 2 starts a Normal Game.
Sonic Labyrinth — About this game
Sonic Labyrinth takes away Sonic’s running speed and makes the Spin Dash his main tool for exploring a maze. Hold either action button to build speed, aim with the D-pad and release to launch; another press brakes the spin when you need a more careful approach. Four zones each contain three regular stages and a boss stage. In a regular stage, find three keys and reach the exit before the timer expires. A Badnik hit costs time and scatters your keys, so recover them before they return to their original positions. Defeating enemies, finding keys and collecting hourglasses add time, giving you reasons to explore rather than simply race past everything. Configuration offers Straight and Slant movement schemes and a starting-tries setting. Test the steering before committing to a fast dash through narrow passages.
