How to Play Soukoban
Quick start
Choose a puzzle from the menu. Find the goals and identify any crate close to a corner. Use the D-pad to walk behind a box, then press toward it to push. Make the first few moves slowly and keep a route to the remaining crates.
Controls
D-pad: move the warehouse keeper. Walking into a crate pushes it one square when the square beyond is free. Crates cannot be pulled or pushed through walls or other crates.
Soukoban — About this game
Soukoban turns a warehouse into a compact planning puzzle. Walk behind a crate and push it along the floor until it reaches a marked goal. You cannot pull a crate back, and pushing one into an unmarked corner can make the position impossible to finish. Before moving, look for the routes needed to get behind each box. Sometimes a crate must move away from its goal first so another can pass. Work from the awkward corners and narrow passages toward the more open spaces, keeping room for the keeper to walk around. A small board can require a long plan, making the satisfaction come from understanding the whole arrangement rather than moving quickly.
