How to Play Space Harrier
Quick start
Press START through the ready screen, select Game Start and press START again. Move with the D-pad and fire with 1 or 2. Learn which obstacles survive shots and leave a clear escape route.
Controls
D-pad: move in eight directions. 1 or 2: fire. START: begin, pause and resume. Password entry uses left/right for letters and 1 to enter. At game over use 1 or 2 to open Continue/End, then choose with up/down.
Space Harrier — About this game
Space Harrier on Game Gear sends its flying hero straight into the screen through twelve stages of Dragonland. Move across the available space to line up shots and escape approaching fire, trees and creatures. Some obstacles can be destroyed while others must be avoided, making recognition as important as constant shooting. Bosses interrupt the advance with larger targets and attack patterns. Stages four and eight offer a change of pace: ride the friendly dragon Euria, invincible, and pass through enemies for bonus points. A four-letter password shown at game over lets you return to that stage. Keep moving deliberately and watch nearby objects grow, rather than letting a distant target draw all your attention.
