How to Play Star Wars
Quick start
Press START for options, choose Cadet or Jedi with Up/Down and START, then begin. Move and use 1 to attack, 2 to jump. Stand still and press START to select an available leader or weapon; confirm with 1 or 2.
Controls
Pad: move; Up enters doors/climbs; Down crouches/climbs down. 1: weapon; hold 1+direction to run, add 2 for a long jump. 2: jump. START while moving pauses; while standing still in side-view action opens selection. Trench: 1 torpedoes, 2 laser cannons.
Star Wars — About this game
Star Wars for Game Gear mixes side-scrolling exploration with space action across Luke’s journey. Search Tatooine for allies and equipment rather than racing past every entrance: discoveries increase mission completion and help with later challenges. Your available leader and weapon can be changed from the selection screen while standing still. Button 1 handles weapons and, when held with movement, running; adding 2 gives a longer jump. Later sequences change the job of the buttons, including torpedoes and laser cannons in the trench. Learn the difference between pausing while moving and opening selection while stopped. Cadet difficulty reduces enemies and removes fall damage, making it a useful way to learn the route before tackling Jedi.
