How to Play Surf Ninjas
Quick start
Advance the introduction with 1 or 2, then press START to begin. Move Left/Right, punch with 1 and jump with 2. Press START for the status screen; choose items with the pad and 1 or 2.
Controls
Left/Right: move; Down: crouch. 1: punch; Up+1 high kick, Down+1 low kick. 2: jump; direction then two quick presses of 2 makes a double-spin jump, hold the second for distance. Down+2: throw selected weapon. Down then Left/Right: roll. START: pause/status; press again to return.
Surf Ninjas — About this game
Surf Ninjas for Game Gear follows Johnny through side-scrolling fights on the way to reclaiming his royal heritage. Punch at close range, mix high and low kicks and use rolling to change position. A double-spin jump reaches farther, but its strength depends on the jump meter, so constant jumping eventually leaves you with little lift. Pause on the status screen to choose a weapon, call Zatch for help or spend gold on useful supplies. Adam’s Game Gear hints consume their own stock, making them worth saving for a difficult stretch. Keep ranged weapons for enemies that are awkward to approach and let your jump strength recover before crossing a dangerous gap.
