How to Play The Smurfs
Quick start
Choose a language, start a game and select difficulty. Move Left/Right, hold 1 to run and press 2 to jump. Use Down beside a movable object to pick it up or put it down, and watch your landing before accelerating.
Controls
Pad: move; Up/Down climb where available, Down crouches or handles movable objects. 1: run with direction; use with a carried present to throw. 2: jump, longer hold gives greater height. START: begin/menu confirmation and pause.
The Smurfs — About this game
The Smurfs for Game Gear is a side-scrolling rescue adventure built around measured jumps and changing terrain. Hold the run button when a gap needs more distance, but slow down when the next platform is hidden or an enemy blocks the landing. Jumping onto vulnerable foes clears the way, while movable objects such as springs help reach places a normal leap cannot. Stars encourage you to explore beyond the direct route, and the stages mix woodland paths with rivers, ice and more dangerous interiors. Keep track of health before taking an optional detour. Rescue goals and bosses give the journey direction, so look for useful objects rather than assuming every obstacle can be solved by running faster.
