How to Play The Smurfs Travel the World
Quick start
Start a game, choose a traveler and enter a region. Move with the pad, jump with 2 and kick with 1. Search the branches of the stage for crystal pieces rather than heading only toward the far edge.
Controls
Pad: move; Up/Down climb vines or ropes where available, Down crouches. 1: kick/interact with kickable objects. 2: jump. START: start/menu confirmation and pause. Collect the required crystal pieces to complete the area.

The Smurfs Travel the World for Game Gear shifts the adventure from rescue to exploration and collection. A broken magic crystal has scattered the travelers, and finding its missing pieces is the route back home. Look beyond the obvious path: climbing, jumping between branches and checking below a ledge can reveal a fragment you would miss by running to the edge of the stage. Button 1 handles kicks and 2 jumps, with terrain and objects determining where each is useful. Different regions introduce new obstacles, while environmental cleanup items add another reason to inspect the scenery. Keep a route in mind as you search, and return to unfinished branches instead of repeating the same cleared stretch.
