How to Play Virtua Fighter Animation
Quick start
Choose VS Com to learn a fighter or Story to begin with Akira. With default controls press 1 to punch, 2 to kick and START to guard. Use directions to approach, retreat, crouch and jump. Check Options if buttons were changed.
Controls
Default: 1 punch, 2 kick, START guard. Left/right: advance or retreat relative to facing. Up: jump. Down: crouch. Directions select menus. Options can remap the three action buttons.
Virtua Fighter Animation — About this game
Virtua Fighter Animation brings the martial artists to a side-view Game Gear fighter. Story mode follows Akira as victories bring new allies into the journey; VS Com lets you choose a fighter for computer matches. Punches, kicks and guarding are separate actions, so defense needs a deliberate button press. Watch the space behind you: a ring out can decide a round before either life bar empties. Try the Normal, Large and Realtime views to find a useful reading of distance. Begin with a short attack followed by a guard, then use movement to make the next attack miss.
