How to Play Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective
Quick start
Choose New Game and follow the 7:02 PM junkyard tutorial. Listen to the desk lamp’s guidance, enter the ghost world and drag your spirit between reachable object cores. Return to the living scene and test an object’s available trick as you work to save the woman. Watch the event sequence before retrying a different timing. START opens the information screen for saving; a continued game can restart from a defined point within the scene.
Controls
Drag the spirit between reachable cores in the ghost world, then return and trigger the possessed object’s available action. On DS, L switches between Ghost and the living scene; R performs the available Trick or rewind action according to context. A confirms or advances text, B cancels, and D-pad moves the view or selection; up shows dialogue history. START opens the information screen for save options. Watch the scene and use the hourglass to retry a failed timing.

Sissel wakes as a spirit with no memory of his life and only one night to uncover the truth. Unable to walk around like a living detective, he travels between the cores of nearby objects and uses their particular actions to influence events. Reaching a victim can open a return to the minutes before death, where moving a small object at the right moment changes the chain of events. Observation, timing and repeated experiments matter more than reflexive combat. Each rescue reveals another part of the mystery, with character animation making even everyday objects feel important.
