How to Play Golf Grand Slam
Quick start
Begin with Training Mode 2. It removes the wind and automatically centers the strike point, letting you learn the target cursor and club distances without also fighting spin. Move the cursor to a safe landing area, press B to open the Command Screen, and keep the caddie's fair default setup while checking that the chosen club covers the yardage. At the Ready Screen, press A to start the dot moving across the ball, then press A again near the center for a straight strike. In the full modes, use EXP from the SHOT window to escape a bunker. On the green, read the slope arrow and degree, then place the cursor opposite the break and add distance for an uphill putt.
Controls
Control Pad: choose menu entries, player count, and club set; on the course, move the target cursor to set direction and carry. On the Command Screen, Left/Right moves among CLUB, STANCE, SHOT, TEE UP/LIE, and GRIP, while Up/Down changes each setting. A: confirm selections; at the Ready Screen, press once to start the moving strike-point dot and again to stop it on the ball and hit. This is not a traditional three-click swing. B: toggle between the fairway Side View and Command Screen. START: begin play from the title screen. SELECT: not used.
Golf Grand Slam — About this game
Golf Grand Slam is a technical NES golf simulation that replaces the familiar three-click power meter with detailed shot planning. Choose one of four 14-club sets, place a target cursor to establish direction and carry, and adjust the club, stance, shot style, tee height or lie, and grip before striking. On the ready screen, a dot travels across a large ball; stopping it in the center produces a straight shot, while high, low, left, and right contact creates topspin, a fly ball, slice, or hook. Tournament mode starts the final day at even par and asks you to complete 18 holes against the Golf Grand Slam Top 30. Two training modes teach the systems, passwords resume at the next hole, and up to four people can share one controller by taking turns.
