How to Play Greg Norman's Golf Power
Quick start
Start on Novice difficulty and use a preset course before entering the designer. Press Select to choose a club whose normal range slightly exceeds the remaining distance, aim with Left or Right, and leave spin near centre while learning. Hold A to set power, release it, then press A again when the returning marker reaches the straight mark; missing far outside the hook or slice zone produces a very short shot. On the green, read the slope arrows, aim, and hold then release A for putting strength.
Controls
Before a full shot — SELECT: cycle clubs. D-pad Left/Right: aim. D-pad Up/Down: move the strike point for topspin/backspin. Hold A and release: set power; press A again as the meter returns: set straight contact, hook or slice. Putting — Left/Right: aim; hold and release A: set force, with a short adjustment window before the putt starts. START: open Quit, Save, Scorecard and Resume.
Greg Norman's Golf Power — About this game
Greg Norman's Golf Power is a 1992 NES golf simulation developed by Gremlin Graphics and published by Virgin Games. Up to four players can compete with Four Score support, choosing preset international courses, weather and skill settings before playing from tee to green. Each full shot combines club selection, directional aim, topspin or backspin, a held power meter and a final timing press that determines straight flight, hook or slice. Its defining extra is a battery-backed course designer, where players assemble fairways, tees, greens, bunkers, water and trees into a custom 18-hole course.
