How to Play Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Hits
Quick start
Choose Career or a song at an easy difficulty. Read the instrument lesson, match single notes first, then practise sustained notes and chords. Review the result before repeating the difficult section or moving to the next performance.
Controls
The original DS setup uses the Guitar Grip's four colored fret buttons together with pick-stylus strumming on the touch screen. Hold the matching color as the note reaches its timing line and strum; sustain a long note as shown. Use the microphone's Star Power command only when that option is offered and the meter is ready.

Modern Hits adds Fan Requests to the DS four-fret rhythm format. After an initial performance, read the newly available request and replay with its score or multiplier target in mind; a previous result does not automatically complete a later request. Fans open the next venue, so a clean repeat can matter more than merely clearing another song. Start with an easy lead-guitar chart, learn the Grip colors and touch-screen strum, then practise the requested goal. Quickplay also offers bass/rhythm and duel roles. This is the cartridge's period set of music, played with the DS/DS Lite Grip setup.
