How to Play Guitar Hero: On Tour
Quick start
Confirm that the original DS setup has a Guitar Grip, then open the introductory lesson or an easy Quick Play song. Match one fret color and a single strum, practise a sustained note and read the performance result before attempting a faster sequence.
Controls
The original DS setup uses the Guitar Grip's four colored fret buttons together with pick-stylus strumming on the touch screen. Hold the matching color as the note reaches its timing line and strum; sustain a long note as shown. Use the microphone's Star Power command only when that option is offered and the meter is ready.

Guitar Hero: On Tour condenses the band's guitar performance into four fret colors and a touch-screen strum. Read the approaching notes, hold the matching Grip buttons and strike in time, then keep a sustained note held through its length. Career links performances into new venues, while Quick Play lets you return to a song. The original cartridge requires the Guitar Grip connected through a DS or DS Lite's Game Pak slot; a plain DSi lacks that connector. Begin with the introductory lesson or an easy song and learn single notes before chords and long runs. Begin with the opening instructions and practice the main interaction before pursuing optional rewards. Read the current objective, make one deliberate choice and watch its effect before repeating it. A short first session makes it easier to separate a missed instruction from a difficult challenge. Return to the available menu when you need to check progress or adjust your approach, then continue from the next clear objective.
