How to Play Miracle Warriors: Seal of the Dark Lord
Quick start
Speak at Alcas Castle, then follow the plains toward Galia instead of cutting through mountains or desert. Talk to travelers and helpful figures to build popularity; attacking the wrong target can close off useful interactions. Once popularity reaches about 150, visit Abeidea Castle for the license that lets you exchange monster fangs for gold. Watch both enemy stamina and equipment endurance, retreat from early threats that greatly outclass you, and repair gear before it breaks. A newly found magic item may remain unusable until a mayor explains it after a donation, so revisit towns whenever the inventory grows.
Controls
D-pad: move on the field and choose menu entries or password characters. A: confirm a choice; approach a visible building, person, or creature to enter, talk, or begin an encounter. B: open the command/item menu and cancel a selection. SELECT: show the status screen. START: sources conflict—one Famicom guide calls it party-status display, while a Traditional Chinese guide says it is unused in normal play and confirms a completed password. The original manual page was not located, so no normal-play function is asserted.
Miracle Warriors: Seal of the Dark Lord — About this game
Haja no Fuuin is a single-player Famicom role-playing game in which Argus must find Guy, Media, and Tremos, gather three keys, and recover the legendary seal before confronting Terarin. Its 72-by-40 overworld is designed around deliberate mapping: plains are relatively safe, mountains and deserts bring much stronger encounters, and currents can carry an unprepared party across damaging water. Battles offer escape, conversation, threats, attacks, and magic items rather than a simple attack loop. Killing monsters or friendly travelers changes popularity, which in turn affects access to people and settlements. Weapons, armor, and shields wear down, while monster fangs become currency after the party earns the proper license. This Famicom edition remains in Japanese and differs substantially from the localized Master System game titled Miracle Warriors.
