How to Play Hajime no Ippo: The Fighting
Quick start
Press START on the title and select "STORY" at the top of the mode selection. Control Ippo Makunouchi and go to the first match against Miyata. Adjust the distance up and down, and aim for a jab of B alone, upper + B uppercut, and hooks of left and right + B. While you are standing without attacking, you will automatically guard, so don't force your hand when your opponent is attacking repeatedly, and only use Direction + A to evade when you can read the attack.
Controls
Cross button: Up to move forward, down to move back, each direction and B to change the punch. B: Jab/direction +B for uppercut, body, left and right hooks. Direction + A: Evade in that direction. R+Direction+B: Attack SP technique, R+Direction+A: Defense SP technique. Automatic guard when no operation is performed, technique table/interrupt menu at START. The menu is a cross, A decision, B cancel.
