How to Play Harlem Globetrotters
Quick start
At the option questions, highlight an answer with any button other than START or SELECT, then confirm with SELECT. Choose Rookie for a first match, one player on your team, and a short quarter setting. On offense, point toward a teammate and tap A to pass. For a jump shot, hold B while the player rises and release before landing; holding too long causes traveling. Near an open basket, drive toward the hoop and press B for a dunk attempt. On defense, stay close and tap A repeatedly to steal, or place yourself between shooter and rim and press B to jump for a block. Spread passes around the perimeter, then attack when the defense shifts. As the Globetrotters, use direction plus SELECT for a trick pass; START attempts a randomly chosen trick shot.

Harlem Globetrotters — About this game
Harlem Globetrotters is a US NES basketball game built around a single exhibition between the showman Globetrotters and their long-time opponents, the Washington Generals. Before tip-off, players decide whether to face the computer, choose a team, assign one or two human players per side, select Rookie or Pro difficulty, and set the quarter length. Rookie uses a forgiving 45-second shot clock and automatic blocking, while Pro uses 24 seconds and a faster, more aggressive opponent. The game follows four-quarter scoring, three-point shots, inbound and backcourt limits, fouls, free throws, and overtime, but the license adds spectacle: only the Globetrotters can call randomly selected trick shots with START or trick passes with SELECT. The original cartridge supports solo and two-player arrangements directly, plus simultaneous three- or four-player games with an NES Satellite.
